Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) has made it clear that, no matter what special counsel Robert Mueller’s report actually says, she will continue her call for impeaching President Trump.
Waters recently suggested that the evidence against Trump “is becoming overwhelming.”
“If we look at Mueller’s report and see where he clearly defines that he’s obstructed justice, people will increasingly come to the conclusion that impeachment is inevitable,” Waters said.
Unfortunately for Waters, the publicly accessible report explicitly declines to make such a judgment, which it defers to Attorney General Bill Barr.
The report also admits to failing to find evidence of the underlying accusation, which is that the Trump campaign illegally conspired with the Russians to win the election.
But Waters refused to budge from her rhetoric, stating, “This president has done everything that one could even think of to be eligible for impeachment.”
