Harvard professor arrested after lying about Chinese government ties

A top scientist and professor at Harvard has been arrested for lying to investigators for his part in a Chinese government scheme to potentially steal US intellectual property and research.

Memo to the Democrat party: China, not Russia, is the biggest threat to America today.

The professor, Charles Lieber, was apparently paid a monthly salary of over $50,000, and given $150,000 for living expenses for participating in China’s “1000 Talents” program.

The Daily Caller reports:

…Charles Lieber, the chair of the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology at Harvard, was charged with aiding the Chinese government and hiding his ties about accepting millions in funding. His involvement with the Chinese government included recruiting skilled individuals to the Thousand Talent Program, which in some cases has resulted in violations of U.S. law, such as espionage, theft of trade secrets, and grant fraud.

China isn’t afraid to spend big money to infiltrate the top echelons of American medical, military, and technology researchers. This is in part a product of China’s self-image as a world superpower in direct competition with the United States.

Any political leader that denies the China threat is intentionally blind to the truth. Thankfully, in President Trump, America has a leader that sees the danger, and is taking action.
