Federal prosecutors have filed charges against the Chinese woman who sneaked into President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort last month.
Yujing Zhang has been charged with lying to a federal agent and entering restricted property.
The FBI has also been investigating whether Zhang might have been acting as a spy, but no related charges have yet been filed.
Zhang gained entry to the resort by falsely claiming she had come to attend a “United Nations Friendship Event.”
Secret Service agents discovered in her possession four cellphones, a laptop, an external hard drive and a thumb drive carrying malware, which began to automatically install onto an agent’s computer.
If that wasn’t suspicious enough, investigators recovered additional items from Zhang’s hotel room including $7,500 in cash and a signal detector device to find hidden cameras.
