Former Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) Acting Commissioner Mark Morgan said on Friday to Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) on her podcast that President Joe Biden was “complicit” in human trafficking at the border because of his open border policies.
Blackburn, who had recently visited the border, asked Morgan, “What should the Biden administration do today to secure the border?”
Morgan replied that Biden could reinstate the Remain in Mexico policy, which the administration has announced that it plans to do in November after losing a court challenge.
“When you have open borders, ultimately who wins is the cartels,” Morgan said. “I actually say right now the Biden administration, they’re complicit in completing the smuggling chain.”
Reinstating Remain in Mexico could cut the number of illegal immigrants trying to cross the border by at least 75%.
