President Donald Trump wanted justice for those who violently rioted in the streets of American cities.
But not everyone wants that.
Kim Foxx, the State Attorney in Chicago made famous after her decisions in the Jussie Smollet case, just announced she would be dropping criminal charges against hundreds of protestors and possible looters.
“Those 817 represent nonviolent offenses, offenses that in some cases would be considered ordinance violations outside of the statute,” said Foxx. “Also, they don’t involve crimes of violence or allegations involving a victim.”
To the states credit, they will prosecute 200 other looters.
