Iran threatens to attack the White House

When President Donald Trump gave the order to kill Iranian General Qassem Soleimani, he knew that the Iranians would demand retribution. He understood the risks, but judged it to be in America’s best interests and ordered the strike anyway.

Now, the President must face the consequences, including attempts on his own life and on the lives of his family members. On Sunday, Iranian MP Abolfazl Abutorabi threatened to attack the White House. His threat was made during an open session of Parliament.

While the Secret Service is not unaccustomed to these kinds of threats from terrorists, it is nonetheless unsettling. And it must be horrible for the Trump family to go through something like this.

“We can attack the White House itself, we can respond to them on the American soil. We have the power, and God willing we will respond in an appropriate time,” said Abutorabi.

But Trump is not backing down. “Let this serve as a WARNING that if Iran strikes any Americans, or American assets, we have targeted 52 Iranian sites (representing the 52 American hostages taken by Iran many years ago), some at a very high level & important to Iran & the Iranian culture, and those targets, and Iran itself, WILL BE HIT VERY FAST AND VERY HARD. The USA wants no more threats,” Trump tweeted.

President Trump has made it abundantly clear that he desires peace with Iran. But the United States cannot and will not tolerate repeated attacks against our soldiers, our embassy, and other critical U.S. interests in the area.
