Most people probably assumed that Hillary Clinton would be happy with the 2020 Democratic field. Like her, they are very liberal – far more liberal than the American people – and a lot of them are women. This is something that Hillary has said she supports.
But of course with Hillary, what she says is not always what she means.
She has been attacking Warren and Sanders, and now a lot of people wonder if she is getting into the race herself.
This past week she attacked Medicare for All proposals – which differ only slightly from her own radical health care agenda – saying they could not work. “I just don’t understand how that could work, and I don’t see other examples anywhere else in the world where it has actually worked over a long period of time,” she said.
“If you were going to do a wealth tax and it was on assets … how you would value it is, I think, complicated to start with,” said Clinton of proposals from her likely 2020 opponents, should she decide to run for office.
She also attacked Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, who is running against the Democratic field herself. She called her a “Russian asset” and a “favorite of the Russians,” insinuating that the water veteran and Democrat Congresswoman is herself not loyal to the country she once defended in uniform.
Hillary is making her continued presence in the Democrat party well known. At the least, she’s going to cause a lot of disruption for candidates. And she might decide to run against them.
