It’s no secret that Hillary Clinton is a sore loser. And she hasn’t exactly been subtle about her bitterness towards Bernie Sanders, her primary opponent in 2016.
Now, on the eve of the Iowa caucuses, Hillary is launching a full-scale anti-Bernie campaign in public, a move clearly designed to damage Bernie’s early state momentum.
The Washington Examiner reports:
Clinton said during a forthcoming documentary series she believes Sanders is not likable enough to be elected president.
“He was in Congress for years,” she said. “He had one senator support him. Nobody likes him. Nobody wants to work with him. He got nothing done. He was a career politician. It’s all just baloney, and I feel so bad that people got sucked into it.”
I’m not a fan of Bernie Sanders, but Hillary’s attack isn’t just nasty – it’s stupid. Is she seriously criticizing him for being a “career politician?” Pot meet kettle.
The weakness of the Democratic field is shocking – and Hillary shares a lot of the blame for that. Her crooked rigging of the 2016 primary alienated Bernie voters, opening the door to a Trump presidency.
Now four years later, it seems like the Democrats are more focused on re-fighting the battles of the past than actually fielding a candidate with a chance.
That’s bad news for them, but great news for America.
