Election Delay Is Confirmed By Top Officials

The upcoming New Zealand election has been delayed over concerns about the coronavirus, according to the most recent reports.

Breitbart News reported Monday that “New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, was warmly applauded Monday when she announced she was delaying the country’s general election by a month.”

“This decision gives all parties time over the next nine weeks to campaign and the Electoral Commission enough time to ensure an election can go ahead,” said Ardern. She emphasized that she has no intention of letting the delay go further than nine weeks.

President Donald Trump has also commented on the possibility of an election delay in the United States but he and his spokespersons have stopped short of calling it a serious alternative.
