Hillary Clinton doesn’t have a great track record when it comes to predicting elections. She famously failed to properly campaign in parts of the so-called ‘Rust Belt’ during the 2016 campaign. Many people believe that cost her the presidency. I tend to disagree. It’s pretty clear that Trump was just the better candidate. Now it’s 2019, and as the 2020 elections are coming up on us it is more clear than ever that some things just never change.
Hillary Clinton appears to be in total denial about Trump’s apparent popularity. When asked directly about what happens if Trump should win in 2020, Hillary showed her lack of judgement once again. “I don’t accept that or believe that will happen,” she said. “I believe there were many funny things that happened in my election that will not happen again.”
She probably still thinks that Russians cost her the election. Or perhaps she doesn’t, and she is just intentionally lying to the American people to delegitimize our elected President, Donald Trump. Whatever the case may be, she’s wrong. Again.
Despite the fact that President Trump did not collude with Russia and the investigation found no such evidence, a lot of Democrats still believe that the now-disgraced scandal was somehow rooted in reality. But it was not.
If the Democrats are going to have to have any chance of winning 2020, they’re going to have to come to grips with reality and find a way to bring back so many of the voters that they ran off in the last few years. But for a radical political party like the Democrats, that task is looking more difficult than ever.
