The nationally covered case of the death of Gabby Petito has taken an even wilder turn.
According to Fox News, “famed” forensic pathologist Dr. Michael Baden declared Petito’s death “a homicide.”
But the report went on to say that “the FBI’s decision to withhold her remains from her family was ‘very unusual,’ as was the agency’s decision not to release the cause of her death when the manner was announced.”
“I think the FBI would be very cautious about things because they don’t want to make a mistake,” said Baden. “Whatever reasons they’re withholding, it is very unusual.”
Teton County Coroner Dr. Brent Blue confirmed the remains are those of Gabrielle Venora Petito, date of birth March 19, 1999. Coroner Blue’s initial determination for the manner of death is homicide. The cause of death remains pending final autopsy results. pic.twitter.com/JoHenMZ9UU
