President Donald Trump isn’t backing away from the controversial tension surrounding confederate flags and symbolism.
His most recent target is NASCAR.
First, Trump called out Bubba Wallace and his associates for the “noose hoax:”
“Has @BubbaWallace apologized to all of those great NASCAR drivers & officials who came to his aid, stood by his side, & were willing to sacrifice everything for him, only to find out that the whole thing was just another HOAX? That & Flag decision has caused lowest ratings EVER!”

Then when Trump was asked by a reporter what the place of confederate symbolism was in American society, Trump responded “It’s about freedom of speech.”
President Trump has suggested NASCAR made a mistake in banning the Confederate flag. When I asked him about the flag's place in our society, President Trump reiterated: "It's freedom of speech." #NexstarDC pic.twitter.com/imdRKrNrO0
