Self-appointed impeachment leader Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) was just caught distorting the truth and obscuring the facts of the ongoing impeachment inquiry – again.
This time, Democrats on Schiff’s House Intelligence Committee released the transcript from the testimony of senior National Security Council official Tim Morrison – but with a twist. While the full transcript was released, the committee also released a conveniently summarized document of “key excerpts” that left out exculpatory evidence from Morrison’s testimony for media consumption.
The transcript had been withheld from the public since October 31st, most likely because it was rumored that it did not provide the evidence the Democrats were looking for.
This point is further supported by the fact that Schiff did not allow the release of the full document to Republicans after the closed-door hearing. If Republicans want to see the transcript, they were required to view it one by one under the direct supervision of a Democrat committee staffer in order to ensure maximum Democrat control of the information.
Furthermore, the “key excerpts” released by Schiff only included parts of the testimony that furthered the case for impeachment, and notably left out Morrison’s exculpatory testimony that he was “not concerned that anything illegal was discussed” on the July 25th phone call between Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
Morrison also testified that aid to Ukraine was not the only foreign aid that was being reconsidered at the time of the call, and that the review of the aid to Ukraine did not include Javelin anti-tank missiles, which were to be supplied to Ukraine through a separate procurement process.
Fortunately for the American people, Morrison has been called to testify in public before the committee on Tuesdays, so Democrats will no longer be able to stifle the truth of Morrison’s testimony.
