A stunning report today reveals that a close aid to the vice president has tested positive for the novel coronavirus.
Kayleigh McEnany, the White House press secretary, relayed the report that a member of aide to Vice President Mike Pence’s team is positive for COVID-19.
“There is a member of the vice president’s team who is positive for coronavirus,” McEnany said at the White House briefing.
Fox News reports that this is not the first case inside the administration.
This is the second member of the vice president’s staff to test positive for COVID-19 in recent days. The news came one day after the White House revealed a person working as a valet for President Trump tested positive for the virus.
The press secretary confirmed that all necessary precautions are being taken.
We have put in place the guidelines our experts have put forward to keep this building safe,” she added. “All of the recommended guidelines we have for businesses that have essential workers were now putting in place here in the White House, so as America reopens safely the white house is continuing to operate safely.”
