Nancy Pelosi snaps at reporter during press conference: “Don’t mess with me”

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi just announced Thursday morning that the House is charging full speed ahead on impeachment after Wednesday’s House judiciary panel hearing.

Pelosi has come under fire throughout the last several weeks from both sides of the aisle for her conduct toward impeachment proceedings. Democrats chafed at how comparatively slowly she moved on impeachment, and Republicans criticized her for moving forward at all based on what is viewed as a biased and partisan inquiry.

She’s clearly been feeling the pressure, because when a reporter asked her during the press conference if she “hates the president,” she suffered somewhat of a meltdown

She snapped back at the reporter, “I don’t hate anybody,” wagging her finger at him. “I was raised in a catholic house, we don’t hate anybody, not anybody in the world, so don’t accuse me of anything.”

Sinclair reporter James Rosen attempted to clarify that his question was in regards to Rep. Doug Collins’ (R-GA) assertion that Democrats are attempting to impeach the president “simply because they don’t like the guy.”

Pelosi fired back, “Let me just say this, I think our President is a coward when it comes to helping our kids, who are afraid of gun violence, I think he is cruel when he doesn’t deal with helping our DREAMers, I think he’s in denial about the constitu… the climate crisis. However, that’s about the election. Take that up in the election.”

This is about the constitution of the United States and the facts that lead to the violation of his oath of office. As a Catholic, I resent your using the word hate in a sentence that addresses me. I don’t hate anyone. I was raised in a way that is a heart full of love and always pray for the president,” she continued.

“And I still pray for the President … so don’t mess with me when it comes to words like that.”

Trump appeared to respond to Pelosi’s tirade via Twitter, “Nancy Pelosi just had a nervous fit […] She says she “prays for the President.” I don’t believe her, not even close.”
