Megan McCain: Nikki Haley is vying for Mike Pence’s office
‘The View’ host Megan McCain made a bold prediction about Mike Pence’s future in the White House on Monday.
She claimed that former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley’s new memoir about her time in the Trump administration as well as her recent interviews praising Trump are a “play” to replace Mike Pence as Trump’s vice president.
According to McCain, “There have been rampant rumors on Capitol Hill that she’s vying for VP. I never believed that because it seemed a little ridiculous, especially since she quit the administration and she has tweeted some things that have been against the president.”
“I have a whole new view on this now because this looks like somebody who is very interested in having a good relationship with the administration.”
Nikki Haley is one of the few former Trump administration officials that has managed to maintain a positive relationship with Trump after leaving their post, and many have speculated for months that she is looking for a new position in the administration.
Megan McCain is not the only political commentator that has suspicions about Haley’s intentions. MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough said that her new book is an “audition,” and went on to say that “This wasn’t even about book buyers. For Nikki Haley, this was an audience of one … She’s putting herself in position to be Mike Pence’s replacement if the president decides he needs to replace Mike Pence.”
Haley is fully aware of the rumors, which have been dogging her for months, and in August tweeted “enough of the false rumors. Vice President Pence has been a dear friend of mine for years. He has been a loyal and trustworthy VP to the President. He has my complete support.”
