The outgoing Republican Senator from Georgia, Kelly Loeffler, renounced her decision to object to the electoral college votes after the rampage in our nation’s capital.
“When I arrived in Washington this morning, I fully intended to object to the certification of the electoral votes,” said Loeffler. “However, the events that have transpired today have forced me to reconsider and I cannot now, in good conscience, object.”

Loeffler is right to condemn the violence. Regardless of political party, lawlessness is not a value of American democracy and it should not be tolerated.
