In an epic pro-life win, the Supreme Court is standing behind the Texas Heartbeat Act, which bans abortions once the heartbeat of a baby has been detected.
The fight for life is ongoing in the courtroom with abortion providers fighting against the Heartbeat Act.
In the 5-4 pro-life victory, Chief Justice John Roberts sided with the abortion providers and Justices Clarence Thomas, Samuel Alito, Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh, and Amy Coney Barrett came through with the majority.
“Other states have passed ‘heartbeat’ bills, but, once signed into law, abortion rights activists filed lawsuits challenging them. Subsequently, courts have blocked these laws, ruling they are unconstitutional in light of the Supreme Court’s 1973 ruling in Roe v. Wade, in which the Court created a right to abortion, and subsequent decisions,” reported Breitbart News.
“The Texas measure, however, contains a unique enforcement mechanism whereby any private citizen may file a civil lawsuit against an abortion provider or any other individual who ‘aids or abets’ a ‘criminal abortion.’ If the lawsuit is successful, all those sued must pay damages of at least $10,000 for each illegal abortion that was performed or received assistance,” reports Breitbart News.
