There’s a reason why Chairman of the Joint Chiefs General Mark Milley allegedly felt like he should take action to limit former President Donald Trump’s ability to launch a nuclear weapon, and her name is Nancy Pelosi.
Milley apparently reviewed the “lawful launch procedures” for nuclear weapons after he took a call from the House Speaker, who told him Trump was “crazy” and suggested that he take “precautions” against a strike.
The call with Pelosi is chronicled in the new book Peril, written by Bob Woodward and Robert Costa, but Trump called it “fiction” and said he didn’t think Milley really did or said what the book alleges.
If the book is correct, however, Milley apparently agreed with Pelosi that Trump was “crazy” and did what he could to limit Trump’s power as the duly elected president–for a few more days anyway.
So the alleged plot thickens. It seems like the whole government outside Republicans was working against Trump and behind his back because they blew the Capitol breach so far out of proportion–if Woodward and Costa can be believed, which may be very doubtful at this point.
