North Korea reported on Monday that it tested new long range cruise missiles over the weekend, indicating that it is continuing to strengthen its defenses while its nuclear negotiations with the U.S. are at a stalemate.
State-controlled media published pictures of the supposed launches, which traveled 930 miles on Saturday and Sunday.
The missiles put South Korea and U.S. military stationed there at risk.
The North Korean government called the missiles a “strategic weapon of great significance,” which implies that they intend to arm them with nuclear weapons at some point.
