President Trump keeps delivering in massive ways on his promise to rein in leftist activism in the federal judiciary.
And the most liberal court in the nation is the center of Trump’s aim. He hit a huge bullseye this week after the Senate voted to confirm Lawrence VanDyke to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. VanDyke is the tenth judge to be appointed by Trump to the nation’s largest appellate court and the president’s 50th circuit court appointee overall.
The pro-life movement is taking notice. Father Frank Pavone, of Priests for Life, told LifeNews.com:
“With the confirmation this week of two judges for the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, President Trump continues to make good on his promise to end liberal judicial activism on the federal bench. With 13 of 29 judges on the court appointed by Republican presidents, the liberal rubber stamp of the Ninth Circuit has been stilled.”
Simply put, Trump is dominating in the battle for the courts.
“With pro-life judges on federal benches, state laws protecting the unborn will have a much better chance of being enacted without needless delay,” Father Pavone said. “Very simply, this means lives will be saved.”
What does Father Pavone think this means for 2020? “The makeup of the courts was a strong motivating factor for a large proportion of voters who elected President Trump in 2016. He will be re-elected in 2020, and this will be one of the key reasons once again.”
