During his recent speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), Donald Trump delivered a stunning revelation about his actions early on January 6th.
According to Fox News, former President Trump “expressed concern over the crowd size near the Capitol days before last month’s deadly riots and personally requested 10,000 National Guard troops be deployed in response.”
That fact runs counter to the Democrats’ narrative that Trump was intent on creating an insurrection.
Trump said that he wanted the troops, but was ultimately overruled due to the optics of having 10,000 National Guard troops there on that day. “That was a big mistake,” admitted Trump.
“Earlier this month, Mark Meadows, the former White House chief of staff, told Fox News’ ‘Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo’ that Trump issued a ‘direct order’ to have up to 10,000 troops ready,” stated the report.
