The Trump team has confirmed that they are selling the Washington D.C. Trump International Hotel.
The deal, now in “advanced negotiations,” has been in the works for some time.
Per the Washington Examiner, “Trump initially tried to sell the leased federal property, which is home to the 122-year-old Old Post Office building, in the fall of 2019.” Another media outlet reported that Tump is “likely to get less than the $500 million he was reportedly seeking two years ago.”
Per the Examiner’s report:
Reports of a potential sale of the property come as Trump’s other hotel and golf resort properties have sustained heavy losses during his presidency and have only gotten worse since the former president lost his bid for reelection in 2020.
The hotel served as a common meeting point for GOP operatives throughout the Trump presidency.
