Top Durham Aide Resigns From DOJ Citing Pressure To Deliver Report

A top aide to US Attorney John Durham has officially resigned from her post at the Department of Justice. Durham is the lead investigator in the special probe into the origins of the Trump-Russia investigation.

Fox News reports that “a Justice Department source confirmed Friday that the federal prosecutor, Norah Dannehy, has resigned.” Dannehy has worked with Durham “for years and is a close aide to him,” according to Fox News.

The Hartford Currant in Connecticut cited sources in saying Dannehy resigned “at least partly out of concern that the investigative team is being pressed for political reasons to produce a report before its work is done.”

US Attorney General Bill Barr has stated there could be more charges coming as a result of the probe, but Trey Gowdy has said it is unlikely.
