After turning on President Trump, former FBI Director James Comey might think he can slip away under the radar of the American public, but he is very wrong.
A new poll from Rasmussen is reporting that over half of likely U.S. voters believe “senior federal law enforcement officials broke the law in an effort to prevent Trump from winning the presidency.”
“Senior” officials would certainly have to include Comey, former National Intelligence chief James Clapper, and former Central Intelligence Agency head John Brennan. Rasmussen pointed out that the Justice Department’s inspector general found Comey improperly leaked information while head of the FBI.
Of those polled, Rasmussen found 43% favor prison “if they are found guilty of breaking the law to prevent a Trump presidency.” That number has almost doubled from 25% previously this year.
Comey is surely sweating somewhere beneath very tall trees.
The lesson to Comey is this: Be sure your sins will find you out. Those words are an ominous promise about the consequences of wrongdoing.
Comey may hope America will forget his misconduct, but according to Rasmussen, it doesn’t look like that’s going to happen.
