Lebanese Prime Minister Hassan Diab confirmed he is resigning amid the fallout after the massive explosion that rocked the capital city of Beirut.

The cause of the explosion is still unknown, but the initial investigation shows that the prime minister may have been previously warned about the risk of having the explosives in the immediate vicinity of the capital.
“Diab’s resignation after only seven months in charge followed in the steps of Finance Minister Ghazi Wazni and Justice Minister Marie-Claude Najm, both of whom tendered their resignations over the weekend,” the Washington Examiner reported.
