Vice President Mike Pence has decided not to move forward with plans to visit Florida and Arizona due to spikes in the numbers of coronavirus cases in those states.
“Vice President Pence will no longer participate in campaign events in Arizona and Florida this week,” said a Pence spokesman. “This is related to coronavirus numbers increasing in those states.”
According to Fox News, “the Florida Department of Health reported more than 9,500 new cases of coronavirus Saturday, surpassing Friday’s record high on nearly 9,000 new cases.”
Pence will, at later date, travel to Arizona and Florida as planned to meet with certain officials in a smaller setting to discuss the virus and increasing numbers.
