Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) is giving up.
In an article for Fox News titled “Pelosi admits defeat on infrastructure bill,” Kyle Morris wrote that Pelosi “drew up the white flag Friday evening, admitting that ‘more time is needed’ to pass a $1 trillion infrastructure bill that is one of the pillars of President Biden’s agenda, after previously vowing to pass the measure this week.”
That one is gonna sting.
With a Democrat House and White House, 2021 was Pelosi’s moment to shine. But it’s just not happening.
As Morris notes, Pelosi is straddling the fence between moderate Democrats and the wildly, progressive leftists who have virtually taken over her party.
“Senate Democratic moderates Joe Manchin of West Virginia and Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona refused to support $3.5 trillion in new spending, meaning the bill could not pass the Senate,” the Fox reporter notes.
Thus far, both Pelosi and the White House have Benn unsuccessful at striking a compromise.
