Former President Barack Obama appeared in a TV ad to urge voters not to recall California Governor Gavin Newsom on Wednesday, even though Larry Elder is poised to become the first black governor in the state if Newsom is recalled.
The ad was funded by Netflix CEO Reed Hastings. Obama signed a multimillion dollar deal with Netflix to provide content for them a few years ago.
The ad showed an image of Elder with former President Donald Trump and accused Republicans of attempting to “overturn common sense COVID safety measures for health care workers and school staff.”
“Gov. Newsom has spent the past year-and-a-half protecting California communities,” Obama said.
The fearmongering is so obvious, but undoubtedly a lot of Democrats will think it makes perfect sense.
