The United States military has confirmed that all military personnel must get vaccinated now that the vaccine has received FDA approval.
Per Breitbart News, “Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin on Wednesday issued a memorandum directing the military services to begin full vaccination of all service members following FDA approval of the Pfizer-BioNTech coronavirus vaccine on Monday.”
“Mandatory vaccination against COVID-19 will only use COVID-19 vaccines that receive full licensure from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), in accordance with FDA-approved labeling and guidance,” said the Pentagon statement.
“To defend this Nation, we need a healthy and ready force. After careful consultation with medical experts and military leadership, and with the support of the President, I have determined that mandatory vaccination against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is necessary to protect the Force and defend the American people,” said Austin in an official memo.
The punishment for failing to get the vaccine could be wide-ranging even up to dishonorable discharge, though that would be the most extreme discipline.
