On Wednesday, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) appeared on The Hugh Hewitt Show.
While there, one of his biggest talking points was the fact that Joe “Macho” Manchin appears ready to split with the Democratic Party as a result of the bullying the West Virginia senator has received for refusing to side with them on President Joe Biden’s Build Back Better baloney.
The biggest shot to Manchin came from the White House, which slammed Manchin as “disloyal.”
Well, if being a Democrat means you’re forced to vote with them on every single issue, then maybe a Democrat isn’t what Manchin wants to be. Joe Manchin himself has even seemed open to the idea.
And how would McConnell feel?
Positively, to say the least.
“Well, you know, as I’ve said the last couple of days, I’ve had this conversation with him off and on for a couple of years,” McConnell said of Manchin switching to the GOP, according to Breitbart. McConnell added:
We come from states that have a lot in common, that have become increasingly red over the last decade or so. And I think what Manchin is discovering is that there just aren’t any Democrats left in the Senate that are pro-life and terribly concerned about debt and deficit and inflation. So he feels like a man alone. If he were to join us, he’d be joining a lot of folks who have similar views on a whole range of issues.
