Judge Holds Off On Enforcing Biden’s Deportation Moratorium

Joe Biden only took a few days to show America that he wanted to undo Donald Trump’s immigration reforms.

But a judge in Texas is saying not so fast.

Fox News reports that “U.S. District Court Judge Drew Tipton in the Southern District of Texas extended his suspension of the White House’s deportation moratorium for 14 days, which the judge says will give parties more time to ‘provide for a more fulsome record’ to assist the court in ‘adjudicating Texas’s motion for a Preliminary Injunction.'”

Biden and his team will have to do a better job of making the case to Judge Tipton before getting their way.

The judge was candid that the ruling could eventually be in Biden’s favor. “The Court may ultimately be persuaded by the Defendants’ arguments, but any harm they might incur between now and then does not outweigh the potential for irreparable harm to Texas,” said Tipton.
