The FISA report is about to go public, which could lead to a public clash between Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz and Attorney General William Barr.
Early reports suggest that the two disagree over whether or not the Department of Justice’s decision to have Robert Mueller investigate a possible connection between Donald Trump’s campaign and Russia was ever justified.
(Hint: The Mueller investigation definitely wasn’t justified – we now know it was a legit Deep State hit job against a sitting president.)
Things could get messy.
The Washington Examiner reports:
“The report on possible abuses of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act will be released Monday, setting up a possible conflict between Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz and Attorney General William Barr.”
The best-case scenario here is that all of the information is finally released so that even if Horowitz isn’t convinced of the truth, the American people will be.
