Texas Democrats are planning to sue the state’s Republican governor, Greg Abbott, over mail-in ballot drop-off sites, according to a Fox News report.
“We’re probably going to be filing suit on that in the next day or so,” Texas Democratic Party Chair Gilberto Hinojosa said in an interview.
“We’re in a big war right now with the state of Texas,” Gilberto Hinojosa, the chairman of the Texas Democratic Party, told The Daily Beast.

According to Fox, the lawsuit takes issue with Gov. Abbott’s proclamation “limiting each county to a single drop-off site for mail-in ballots.”
“[Harris] county previously had 12 drop-off locations,” Fox News reported. “Abbott’s proclamation shut down 11 of them. And Texas has a number of other counties that are as big or even large.”
Abbott, for his part, claims the move was an effort to secure the election by limiting the number of ballot turn-in locations.
