Former Fox News host Bill O’Reilly said that he could potentially go to jail for publishing his next book, Killing the Killers: The Secret War, because it includes classified information about terrorism that no one is supposed to have access to.
“That book is filled with classified information that nobody’s seen. I was lucky enough to be able to get it, I’ll probably wind up in prison for printing it,” he said Thursday, according to Conservative Brief.
In all likelihood, O’Reilly was joking when he said those words, and it makes the book more intriguing to think that it contains illegal secrets about terrorism and terrorists that most people don’t know.
The former host also said the research he did for the book made him think that America was safer from large-scale attacks than it was 20 years ago, when the 9/11 attacks happened.
“Americans need to know that we are safer, and the reason is technology. So, the American government, apart from the politicians, has harnessed technology to make it very, very hard for ISIS, al-Qaida — these people — to organize and attack on our soil,” he said, citing technological advances and the Patriot Act as differences from 2001 to now, as Conservative Brief reported.
