The return of former President Donald Trump now seems inevitable.
According to a report from NBC News titled “Trump’s Back,” the former President is making moves consistent with a re-entry into national politics.
“Trump returns to the electoral battlefield Saturday as the marquee speaker at the North Carolina Republican Party’s state convention,” states the report. “He plans to follow up with several more rallies in June and July to keep his unique political base engaged in the 2022 midterms and give him the option of seeking the presidency again in 2024.”
That evidence is huge considering Trump is already polling far above any other GOP presidential candidates in early polling.
“If the president feels like he’s in a good position, I think there’s a good chance that he does it,” said Jason Miller, a Trump adviser. “For the more immediate impact, there’s the issue of turning out Trump voters for the midterm elections.”
Miller was clear that they still see Trump as a political influencer. “President Trump is the leader of the Republican Party,” said Miller.
