Democrat Rep. Ro Khanna (CA) admitted on live television this week what he thinks of American businesses and the people they employ.
According to a report from Breitbart News, Khanna told an interviewer: “We don’t want low-wage businesses. Most successful small businesses can pay a fair wage.”
Khanna went on to claim that the wages haven’t been fair in America since 1968.
Fundamental economics disprove Khanna’s (and the Democrats’) assumption that raising the minimum wage actually helps the American worker. When business owners are forced to pay higher wages than they can afford, they outsource the work to lower-end contractors. History proves Khanna’s understanding is wishful thinking.
But that’s not stopping him.
“I don’t want small businesses that are underpaying employees,” Khanna said, according to Breitbart. “It’s fair for people to be making what they’re producing. I think $15 is very reasonable in this country.”
