The mirage is gone and the truth is coming into focus. And Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is finally being exposed for what she is.
“In a study of legislative effectiveness, Ocasio-Cortez was ranked No. 230 out of the 240 Democrats who served in the 116th Congress,” the Washington Examiner reported this weekend. “[House Speaker Nancy] Pelosi was ranked 237th in the measure. Rep. Jim Cooper, a Tennessee Democrat, was the least effective legislator in his party.”
Although AOC and Pelosi have a knack for making headlines, it would appear neither have a knack for making a difference.
“It’s clear that [Ocasio-Cortez] was trying to get her legislative agenda moving and engage with the lawmaking process. But she wasn’t as successful as some other members were — even among [other] freshmen — at getting people to pay attention to her legislation,” said Alan Wiseman, a professor behind the study, according to the Examiner.
