Attorney General William Barr just brought criminal charges. It is finally happening and the DC swamp is in an uproar. This further proves that President Trump made the right choice on Barr.
After four years of legal wrangling, Kate Steinle, who was murdered by an illegal immigrant named Jose Inez Garcia-Zarate in 2015, is about to be avenged. U.S. Attorney David Anderson announced that firearms charges would be brought against her killer.
“In the federal court we’ve brought this case on the basis of a statute passed by Congress many years ago that prohibits certain categories of people from possessing any firearms,” said Anderson.
“If you’re someone who has no lawful status in the United States — if you’re here without any right to be here, you cannot possess a firearm,” continued Anderson, during an interview on Fox & Friends.
Steinle’s horrific murder and the subsequent injustice of her killer not being held accountable for his action has rallied Americans to call for a crackdown on illegal immigration. A bill known as ‘Kate’s Law’ was also born out of the movement.
Unfortunately, while the bill passed the House of Representatives after it was introduced, it stalled in the Senate. It is time for ‘Kate’s Law’ to be reintroduced, which would further help the federal government’s case against Garcia-Zarate.
