The Army has made a sudden and drastic decision: anyone not “immediately” complying with vaccine mandate with be discharged.
The announcement came on February 2, saying that “soldiers who have not complied with the Biden administration’s order for all service members to be vaccinated against the coronavirus” will be discharged immediately.
Army Secretary Christine Wormuth issued the directive:
“Army readiness depends on Soldiers who are prepared to train, deploy, fight and win our nation’s wars. Unvaccinated Soldiers present risk to the force and jeopardize readiness. We will begin involuntary separation proceedings for Soldiers who refuse the vaccine order and are not pending a final decision on an exemption.”
Among the critics of the brutal decision is Donald J. Trump, who recently called on Republicans to “pass legislation that would allow for separated service members to rejoin the military” if they take control of Congress.
