Word is spreading about a shakeup on the White House staff. President Trump just mentioned Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, and the news doesn’t stop there.
John Bolton, Trump’s now-former national security adviser, will not be replaced by Pompeo. Speaking to reporters, Trump said that he and Pompeo decided the candidate should be someone else.
“I actually spoke to Mike Pompeo about that and he decided — I get along with him so well, we have a lot of the same views, couple of different views — but he likes the idea of having someone in there with him,” said Trump.
Trump also reported that he has at least 15 candidates in mind for the crucial post. He said, “A lot of people want the job. It’s a great job. It’s great because it’s a lot of fun to work with Donald Trump.”
He continued by saying that it’s actually not that difficult to work for him, despite what the media assumes. “And it’s very easy actually to work me. You know why it’s easy? Because I make all the decisions,” he said.
Now, his comment will likely be misconstrued by the same media that never gives him a fair shake. They are probably reporting that all Trump wants are ‘yes men,’ but Trump is simply pointing out that the buck stops with him. He gets to make the final decision.
