Defying all logic, the White House actually DEFENDED Barack Obama’s decision to host a massive 60th birthday bash for himself that includes nearly 700 people.
Psaki defended Obama’s huge party by saying the even was in a “moderate spread” zone identified by the CDC in addition to being held outdoors.
Eventually, outside pressure forced Obama to cancel the event, realizing it would be a PR nightmare to continue any further.
But that asks the question. If the decision to cancel the event was so obvious that Barack would do it in front of 3oo-plus million Americans, why was the White House defending it in the first place?
So just why WAS the White House (D)efending it? We may never know.
The band Pearl Jam was booked to play the event. No word yet on if Obama got his deposit back after cancelling.
