A major Ukraine reversal just stunned Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi. Her hyper-partisan plan has blown up in her face — she’s finally done.
During an interview on ‘Fox & Friends,’ Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) turned the tables on the entire narrative and called for three Democratic senators to be investigated for allegedly trying to extort Ukraine.
“Joe Biden threatened the aid and then three senators wrote a letter to the Ukrainian government, and they said if you don’t continue investigating Trump, and help the Mueller investigation, we may pull back on your aid,” said Paul.
Paul is referring to Sens. Robert Menendez (D-NJ), Dick Durbin (D-IL), and Patrick Leahy’s 2018 letter that asked Ukraine’s top prosecutor at the time to “reverse course” and participate in the Mueller probe.
The letter accuses Ukraine of considering the case “too politically sensitive and potentially jeopardizing U.S. financial and military aid to Ukraine,” among other things. It is rife with inference and innuendo.
Paul continued, “We can’t have two standards. Democrats get to threaten Ukrainian aid and nothing happens to them. Now they want to impeach a president over this?” He then predicted what would happen if the House impeached Trump.
“I think in the end it’s going to be seen by the American public as very partisan. If the House sends it over I think it will be voted down in the Senate,” he said.
