It’s been a while since the Duggar family has been in the news for anything positive, but this may be their chance to turn their reputation around.
Jim Bob Duggar, the father on the reality show “19 Kids and Counting” recently shocked America by announcing his upcoming political intentions.
“I am honored to announce my candidacy for Arkansas State Senate District 7. Northwest Arkansas is my lifelong home. It’s where my wife Michelle and I have raised our 20 children. It’s where we’ve grown our small businesses. It’s where we’ve built a life centered around our faith, family, and friends. Our family has been blessed by God in so many ways,” Duggar said. “We’ve found His love and goodness to be our source of strength in both our most joyous occasions and our darkest moments. It’s important to us to give back and to help others in every way we can.”
Jim Bob Duggar previously served in the Arkansas House, and ran for a Senate seat in 2016. He lost in the GOP primary.
Duggar’s biggest obstacle will probably be the status of his son Josh Duggar, who is currently tied up in some very nasty legal battles after child pornography was found on his computer. Josh, who is set to go on trial in November 2021, could face up to 20 years in prison and $250,000 in fines if convicted on all charges.
