President Donald Trump raised a record $24.8 million for his re-election campaign in less than 24 hours after a Tuesday night rally to launch the effort, The Daily Caller News Foundation reported.
“[Trump] has raised a record breaking $24.8M in less than 24 hours for his re-election,” RNC chairwoman Ronna McDaniel said. “The enthusiasm across the country for this President is unmatched and unlike anything we’ve ever seen!”
Trump raised more than the top 5 Democrat candidates combined in his first 24 hours, over a million dollars per hour. Democrat frontrunner Joe Biden only raised$6.3 million on his first day of campaigning, and Beto O’Rourke was next with $6.3 million.
Bernie Sanders raised just $18.2 million in the entire first quarter of his campaign. Biden has not yet released first quarter numbers.
“On top of an electric rally in Orlando, this shows huge Trump enthusiasm,” said Tim Murtaugh, the director of communications for Trump’s 2020 campaign.
