President Trump just issued a major pardon decision. The mainstream media is fuming, and people are stunned.
“Mr. Behenna is entirely deserving of this Grant of Executive Clemency,” said White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders in a statement. She noted his “broad support” and that he’d been a “model prisoner.”
She noted “concern about how the trial court had handled” his self-defense claim and that the Army “reduced his sentence to 15 years and paroled him as soon as he was eligible in 2014—just 5 years into his sentence.”
The ACLU, an organization that serves as the media’s lapdog, released a statement condemning Trump’s pardon of Behenna and leveling wild accusations against Trump.
Hina Shamsi, the ACLU’s national security project director, said Trump’s pardon is “presidential endorsement of a murder” and that he “should prevent war crimes, not endorse or excuse them.”
