A lot of conservatives have, at one time or another, criticized former presidential nominee Mitt Romney for being a Republican In Name Only. A RINO, if you will.
A new challenger in Utah may finally put those claims to the test.
Utah’s Attorney General Sean Reyes appears to be Romney’s likely opponent in the Republican primary. If Reyes’ vocal support of Donald Trump is any indication, he and Romney are going to have at least a few differing ideas come debate season.
Reyes will reportedly wait until May to determine whether or not he will challenge Romney.
Trump has been urging Reyes to take Mitt’s place in the Senate.
Some have even reported that Romney will retire instead of seeking reelection in 2024 against a MAGA candidate.
If so, Reyes would be a breath of fresh air. His Utah State bio claims he enjoys “shooting guns and rapping on Bloomberg News.” Now if those aren’t two al-American hobbies, then I don’t know what are.
