Acting Director of Citizenship and Immigration Services Ken Cuccinelli announced a new rule Monday that will make it harder for immigrants to the U.S. to get green cards or become citizens if they receive any kind of government benefits.
Anyone who comes into the country and subsequently uses government programs like welfare benefits, food stamps, and public housing could have their visa or green card application denied because of their dependence.
The new rule could reduce the number of illegal immigrants that are allowed to stay in the U.S. since many asylum seekers and illegal immigrants are low income and end up depending on government benefits if they do stay.
Legal or illegal, if you’ve been here living on food stamps, don’t expect to waltz right on in and get more free stuff, courtesy of the American taxpayer. Trump’s not going to let that happen anymore.
Despite House Democrats and liberal courts that want to effectively eliminate U.S. borders entirely, Trump keeps finding ways to slow the flow of illegal immigration.
