As President Donald Trump begins his bid to seek re-election to the presidency in 2020, he got some good news about national fundraising efforts. IJR reported that the Republican National Committee raised more than twice as much as the Democrat National Committee in June and has much more cash on hand as primaries begin to heat up.
The RNC raised $20.7 million in June and have $43.5 million cash on hand, while the DNC only raised $8.5 million and has $9.5 million cash on hand.
Many businesses and investors donated large amounts to the RNC. Donors may be eager to see Trump’s business-friendly policies continue.
RNC fundraising for the month of May reached $14.6 million, which chairwoman Ronna McDaniel called “record-breaking.”
If fundraising is any indication, it seems like Trump has most of the enthusiasm at this point in the election cycle. There’s still lots of time for further developments to take place, however.
