President Donald Trump got some good news as new evidence has shown that the official narrative on the Russian collusion investigation timeline is false.
Newly-released texts from former FBI agent Peter Strzok imply that the investigation into then-candidate Donald Trump began earlier than the Obama administration is willing to admit.
The texts from Strzok were released by the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee. One text dated July 28, 2016 reads, “[o]ur open C[counter-]I[ntelligence] investigations relating to Trump’s Russian connections.”
This creates a conflict with an inspector general report from December of 2019 that claims that the FBI opened Operation Crossfire Hurricane on July 31st, three days after that text from Strzok.
It is possible that the FBI was investigating President Trump just under a different designation, which would explain the discrepancy. What matters is that the FBI is not honest about when their investigation began.
For President Trump, this is more evidence that the FBI cannot be trusted, and the Russian collusion investigation was a political hitjob.
